Les Mélèzes is embodied by two iconic architectural creations: La Grange au Lac and La Source Vive, each just as astonishing and fascinating as the other. The first charms with the warmth and intimacy of its wooden frame, the second captivates with its curved lines and and proximity to the artists. The two make a striking duo, where architecture lends itself to the needs of music whilst still asserting its status as a standalone work of art.

Exceptional natural surroundings

Located on the shores of Lake Geneva, set in the heart of wooded grounds, Les Mélèzes takes its place in a natural environment endowed with a rare beauty. The dialogue between the architecture and the landscape gives it a unique atmosphere, where the serenity of the location inspires artists and audiences alike.

With the neighbouring lake and mountains, and the beauty of the unspoilt nature all around, Les Mélèzes offers much more than just a music venue, but a setting where nature and art come together to create an unmatched experience.

Patrick Bouchain: two concert halls, one vision

The iconoclastic and visionary architect Patrick Bouchain is the link between La Grange au Lac and La Source Vive.

Renowned for having designed iconic cultural buildings such as Lieu Unique in Nantes, Condition Publique in Roubaix and the Théâtre Zingaro in Aubervilliers, in 1993 he designed, along with the BAOS collective, a unique concert hall: a "wooden tent", purpose-built to house the Rencontres Musicales d’Évian. Remaining loyal to his creation, he has supported every step in its development. Having fallen under the spell of this building unlike any other, thirty years later Aline Foriel-Destezet entrusted him with the design of La Source Vive.

Patrick Bouchain chose to opt for the architectural counterpoint of La Grange au Lac, ensuring that the two buildings speak to one another as if two facets of the same piece. This time he had Philippe Chiambaretta and the PCA-STREAM firm by his side to bring the project to life.
