Over time, the Rencontres Musicales d’Évian has become an essential date on the musical calendar. This is also the aim of Les Mélèzes: to become a regular place to visit for local audiences and further afield, and to bring together artists from all backgrounds through the quality of its programme.

A season in harmony with nature

Through autumn, winter, spring and summer, the programme unfolds around major themes, with the aim of giving artists the gift of time in an unspoilt natural setting: time for individual and collective work, time to create, and time on stage surrounded by the natural acoustics of the venues.

True to the mission set out by the founders of the Rencontres Musicales d’Évian, Les Mélèzes encourages fruitful dialogue between artists, the arts, expertise and influences. Its vocation is to foster the passing on of expertise, where generations meet, intertwine their voices and instruments, and carry forward the place's musical legacy.

Two concert halls and a wide variety of projects to inspire, move and share at a local, national and international level: educational and social initiatives rooted in the local area, partnerships with musical groups and institutions from the Lake Geneva area and beyond, artists and spectators from around the globe.

A season woven with connections

 

The season of Les Mélèzes has been designed around recurring signature events that will return each year as familiar landmarks for both audiences and artists. It brings together a plurality of disciplines and repertoires, including chamber music, dance, theatre, opera and jazz, which interact and reappear as the seasons go by.
Created with the aim of finding balance between different arts, aesthetics and sensibilities, the Les Mélèzes season embodies a welcoming and open spirit, weaving in many partnerships with leading institutions and artists.

Today, this plurality finds its expression in a collegiate artistic vision, with Renaud Capuçon responsible for programming the Rencontes Musicales d’Évian, also working with Alexandre Hémardinquer, General Manager for Les Mélèzes, to develop additional signature events for the season of Les Mélèzes, while Stéphane Portet brings his expertise to the jazz component. An open configuration, destined to be enriched over time with occasional collaborations, ensuring the diversity of the performing arts continues to thrive.
