La Source Vive has the honour of opening the 2026 season and setting the tone for Les Rencontres Musicales d’Évian, which are now held across two venues. The new hall, situated in the immediate surroundings of La Grange au Lac, is the natural setting for chamber music and, this season, offers a close focus on Brahms. From the Third Piano Quartet, begun as early as 1856 and then reworked over the course of twenty years, to the final Sonata for Violin and Piano, a mature work dating from the composer’s last stay at his Swiss retreat on Lake Thun, this concert also inaugurates a series of Brahms-themed events featuring a sumptuous, intergenerational and inspired line-up, which will be presented in various configurations throughout the festival.
