"We have been in love with Brahms from our beginnings," says principal violinist Corina Belcea.  "We have performed and recorded his three string quartets, and we always take great pleasure in playing them.” This programme dedicated to strings embraces the noble forms of chamber music - the quartet and the quintet - and sees the coming together of leading chamber musicians.  The distinctively London Belcea quartet, a role model for many generations of quartets, has been centre-stage on the international scene since its creation in 1994 and loves to broaden its musical experience by sharing its repertoire.  The young French viola player Paul Zientara, a familiar face at the festival and regular partner to Renaud Capuçon, devoted his first album to opus 120's two sonatas in 2025.
