BRAHMS Piano Trio No.1 in B major, Op. 8

Brahms was twenty-one years old when he composed his first chamber music work, a trio with piano, which years later he would rework after composing two others, which can be enjoyed on 1st and 2nd July.  A radiant work, composed around the same period as the four piano Ballades, which here bring together three distinguished Brahms interpreters: Julia Hagen devoted her debut album in 2019 to the German composer; Igor Levit includes solo works and concertos in his triple album, and recently performed the three violin sonatas in concert together with Renaud Capuçon.  The violinist also pays frequent homage to him alongside his fellow chamber musicians or in concerto.
