BRAHMS Piano trio No. 3 in C minor, Op. 101
Four distinguished chamber musicians share, in the intimacy of the sonata or the trio, three works from the same era, all conceived in the summer of 1886 during one of the composer’s stays on the shores of Lake Thun in Switzerland. Clara Schumann would write of sonata Op.100, "No other composition by Johannes has delighted me so completely. I felt a joy from it that I had not experienced in a long time". Brahms, along with Beethoven, Schumann and Chopin, is a favourite of the Korean pianist Sunwook Kim. His brilliant yet delicate touch on the keyboard make him an inspiring partner to the poetic violin of Daniel Lozakovich or the heroic cello of Edgar Moreau, with whom he also comes together as a trio with the highly accomplished Clara-Jumi Kang.
