2008: Yannick Nézet-Séguin's first concert with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. "It was as though we had known each other forever", says the Quebec conductor, now an honorary member of the European ensemble. Also with close ties to the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Metropolitan Opera, he travels widely across the international scene and here he conducts at La Grange au Lac for the first time. The same year, Romain Guyot was named principal clarinettist at the COE, having served in the ranks of the Orchestre National de l’Opéra de Paris. Here, as a soloist for Weber's masterful concerto, he demonstrates how the COE dazzles not only through its collective spirit but also through the outstanding quality of each one of its instrumentalists.
