The Philharmonic Brass brings together sixteen brass musicians and four percussionists from the philharmonic orchestras of Berlin and Vienna for an unusual and ambitious project: to share their passion for the great symphonic compositions and to reinvent the interpretation of these by offering a unique sound experience, all of its own. Eclecticism and a voluptuous sound are of the essence, as evidenced in this programme that combines joyful carnival and operatic overtures, Polovtsian and Slavonic dances, and Italian operatic, nocturne, intermezzo and circus game interludes. This is a concert which promises to be jubilant, one that will win over anyone who doubted that brass instruments are also endowed with sensitivity, finesse and refined elegance.
